The perimenopause sleep crisis no one talks about

Approximately 1.3 million women enter menopause each year in the United States alone. Of those, an estimated 80% experience some form of sleep disruption — most commonly night sweats and hot flashes that fragment sleep architecture.

The physiological mechanism is well understood: declining estrogen levels destabilize the hypothalamus, the brain region responsible for thermoregulation. The result is sudden vasodilation — a rush of blood to the skin surface that triggers perspiration, followed by rapid cooling and chills.

Most bedding solutions address this passively — breathable fabrics that allow air to circulate. Solène takes an active approach: our PCM-infused core absorbs excess thermal energy at the onset of a hot flash, buffering the temperature spike before it fully manifests.

In our 30-day customer survey (n=847), 94% of respondents in perimenopause or menopause reported fewer night-sweat episodes, and 88% reported no longer needing to change sleepwear during the night.
